This Master's programme in Interactive Media Systems at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg is offered in English and German. Currently, two specialisations are available in English: Mixed Reality & Usability and Human–Computer Interaction Design. Your Master's thesis is completed within the chosen specialisation, allowing you to focus your final project on the topic area you select.
The curriculum is organised into four complementary areas: the Master's project (carried out in your specialisation), core subjects, workshops and seminars, and general accompanying subjects. Core subjects deliver the programme’s foundational knowledge, workshops and seminars provide hands-on and applied learning, and the general accompanying subjects round out transferable and interdisciplinary skills that support your studies and professional development.

Graduates are prepared for roles that bridge technology, design and user experience, such as UX/interaction designer, mixed reality developer, HCI researcher or product designer in industry and research organisations. The combination of core modules, hands-on workshops and a specialisation-focused Master's project equips students to design and evaluate interactive systems and to contribute to interdisciplinary development teams.
The programme’s project work and international collaborations also benefit students aiming for research roles or further academic study. Proficiency in English and/or German increases employability in German and international markets, and the practical orientation helps graduates transition directly into professional roles in software development companies, design agencies, research institutes and tech startups.
