This application-focused Master of Science combines computer science, business administration and quantitative methods to give you both advanced theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills. The programme is designed to prepare graduates for leadership and strategic roles as well as research-oriented positions in software-driven industries and IT consulting.
You choose one of three specialisations. Advanced Analytics—offered in both English and German—centres on statistical analysis, machine learning and data-driven decision-making. Information Systems Engineering and Business Engineering are taught in German: the former covers the design, implementation and security of complex information systems, while the latter focuses on optimising business processes and managing organisational change through IT.
The English-language option is available exclusively within the Advanced Analytics specialisation and all instruction and assessment in that track are delivered in English. Successful graduates are awarded the Master of Science (MSc) degree, which also opens the path to doctoral studies or qualification for higher civil service positions in Germany.

These are the admission conditions for the two tracks of the Master’s program. Requirements differ between the German-language specializations (Advanced Analytics, Information Systems Engineering, Business Engineering) and the English-language Advanced Analytics track, so read the relevant section carefully.
All applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics or a closely related field. The programme expects a standard undergraduate study length of seven semesters (210 ECTS). If your prior degree differs from these requirements or you are unsure whether your qualification counts as “related,” contact the admissions office for guidance.
Below are the specific entry criteria for each track. Note the different minimum grade thresholds and the English-track requirement to pass a mandatory aptitude test (see Annex 6 of the examination regulations for details).

If anything in your academic record doesn’t clearly match these requirements (for example, different ECTS totals or an unusual grading system), contact the admissions office early to discuss possible equivalence, conditional admission pathways, and documentation you should submit.

Graduates are prepared for a range of professional roles in software-driven industries, consulting and public administration. Typical positions include data scientist, business analyst, IT consultant, information systems designer or process optimisation specialist, depending on the chosen specialisation.
The MSc also provides a pathway to research and doctoral programmes. The combination of technical, quantitative and business skills makes alumni attractive to employers seeking professionals who can translate data insights and IT solutions into strategic business decisions.
