Overview
This full-time, English-taught master’s program runs over three semesters and awards 90 ECTS. It gives a rigorous, practice-oriented grounding in the principles and tools of international finance and economics, combining theoretical foundations with applied and international experience. The curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for a broad range of careers in the global financial sector and related fields.
Curriculum and focus
The degree requires completion of seven mandatory modules, five elective modules and a master’s thesis. Core courses cover areas such as financial management, corporate valuation, international capital markets, global financial institutions and investment banking, applied quantitative methods, international economics, and an applied international research project. Students can deepen their training by specialising in either finance or economics through elective choices—typically taking between 6 and 24 ECTS in electives within the chosen focus. There is also the opportunity to spend a semester abroad or to pursue a double degree with Nord University (Norway), whereby students may earn an additional Master of Business (major in Finance and Investments, MSc, 120 ECTS) within two years. The program is accredited and delivered by faculty with strong academic credentials and practical experience, providing an internationally oriented education suited to the evolving global environment.
Key facts and requirements
Curriculum and teaching methods The programme is delivered in a highly interactive format: lectures are participatory and require active student engagement. Teaching regularly integrates case analyses, group discussions and joint working sessions to apply theory to real-world problems. Small class sizes foster close contact with faculty and peers, enabling tailored feedback and close mentoring during seminars and supervised project work.
Practical learning and mobility Hands-on learning is emphasised through supervised research projects, field investigations and company visits, and students have opportunities to pursue individual research assignments. The programme supports international experience: you can spend a semester at one of 80+ partner universities, take part in double-degree options or complete internships abroad. Scheduling is flexible, allowing you to adapt the sample study plan to your needs.
Key components and expected learning outcomes Rather than relying solely on lectures, the curriculum’s main components are interactive seminars, case-based learning, collaborative projects, applied fieldwork and industry engagement. As a result, graduates should gain stronger analytical and problem‑solving abilities, effective teamwork and presentation skills, experience conducting independent applied research, and readiness to operate in international finance and economics environments.
