This master's programme is internationally focused and delivered in English, with a clear semester structure: you will take courses worth 30 ECTS each semester. Teaching emphasizes independent, self-directed learning while providing academic guidance and practical support to help you apply theory to real-world product and service challenges.
In the summer semester you will work in an integrative project carried out by interdisciplinary and intercultural teams. Projects are supervised — you will be supported by a project coach, subject-matter specialists, and professors — allowing you to develop teamwork, project management and practical implementation skills in a collaborative setting.
The winter semester lets you shape your individual profile by selecting a focus area and elective modules. Current focus and study-abroad options include Service Management at Universidad Politécnica de Valencia; Technologies at the University of Applied Sciences Ansbach; International Business at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) in Queensland, Australia (chargeable programme); and Tourism & Hospitality or International Business at the International College of Management Sydney (ICMS), Australia (chargeable programme). German language classes are also available as an elective to support daily life and career opportunities in Germany.
Key programme structure and options
Curriculum overview
This program is structured to give you flexibility and hands‑on experience. Depending on your intake, you will either begin with the thematic focus modules or dive straight into the project semester. The course is delivered in modular form, so individual modules offer distinct learning experiences and can be taken independently of one another—useful if you need to tailor timing around internships or work commitments.
Practical application and research are closely linked. A company project is a core element that lets you apply scientific methods to real business challenges, bridging theoretical knowledge and workplace practice. Your studies culminate in a Master's thesis submitted in the third semester, which completes the degree and demonstrates your ability to carry out independent, methodologically sound research.

Program requirements (completion)
You must hold a university-level Bachelor's degree whose content is related to the Master's programme. Degrees in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering are explicitly regarded as subject-related; other degrees will be assessed individually according to the university’s study and examination regulations.
Applicants must demonstrate at least 30 ECTS credits in business-related coursework from their prior studies (30 ECTS corresponds to about half an academic year under the European Credit Transfer System). If you cannot document sufficient business knowledge, you may still be admitted on the condition that you successfully complete designated business modules from the university’s Bachelor programmes within one year of enrolment.
