This specialisation is offered as a double-degree track within the English-taught Master's in Business Administration. Students graduate with a Master of Science (MSc in Business Administration) awarded by KU’s Ingolstadt School of Management (WFI) and an additional postgraduate degree from one of two partner schools: Toulouse Business School (TBS) or Rajagiri Business School (RBS). The curriculum prepares graduates to take on managerial and specialist roles in both national and international settings, emphasising professional responsibility, social awareness and intercultural competence.
The programme is organised over four semesters: two semesters are completed at WFI in Ingolstadt and the remaining two at a partner institution — either TBS (campuses in France or Spain) or RBS in India. While at WFI, you choose modules from one of the following specialisation areas:
Spending time at the partner institution strengthens international experience and intercultural understanding while allowing you to tailor your study path through the partner’s module offerings.
At Toulouse Business School, students are required to acquire 90 ECTS within one academic year. This typically includes 48 ECTS in a chosen specialisation, additional elective modules, an internship and a Master’s thesis. At Rajagiri Business School, students must earn at least 30 ECTS across two trimesters; these credits can be obtained by taking modules across two of RBS’s specialisations (Marketing, Finance, Business Intelligence, Operations and HR). The Master’s thesis is supervised by representatives from the relevant universities, and detailed rules or additional requirements may vary depending on which partner university you select.
Requirements (concise)
This International Business Administration curriculum combines a broad foundation in core business areas with modular specialisation and international study. During the first two semesters students complete six required modules selected from the mandatory modules of the programme’s other specialisations — Market-Oriented Corporate Management; Finance, Accounting, Controlling and Taxation; Entrepreneurship & Innovation; Business Analytics & Operations Research; and Digital Customer Experience & Service Design — and must include one ethics module. Alongside those, students take six elective modules chosen from the elective lists across those five specialisation areas, giving a flexible mix of core and tailored study before moving on to the partner‑university phase.
After the first year students continue their elective study at a partner institution: at Rajagiri Business School they may freely select from the cooperating institution’s Master’s‑level modules before embarking on the Master’s thesis; at TBS students select a Professional Expertise track and will study in Toulouse, Paris, or Barcelona depending on the chosen field. The programme also integrates practical and career‑oriented elements — a TOEIC English test, a soft‑skills certificate, a consulting mission, an internship and a Master’s thesis — to ensure graduates gain applied experience, cross‑cultural competence and research capability.
Learning outcomes include advanced managerial knowledge across multiple business domains, specialised expertise in international business topics, ethical awareness, improved professional English (TOEIC) and transferable soft skills, applied problem‑solving from consulting and internship experiences, and the ability to carry out independent research culminating in the Master’s thesis.
Program requirements and course features
This Master’s programme is a consecutive Master of Science and requires a first university degree in business studies, business administration, economics or a closely related field from a recognised university in Germany or abroad. Please note the programme includes a mandatory study period at one of the partner schools (Toulouse Business School, France or Rajagiri Business School, India). Admission is competitive and additional documentation is required for applicants with degrees earned outside the EU.
International applicants should be aware of country-specific evaluation rules: an Academic Evaluation Office exists for China and Vietnam, and an Academic Evaluation Office India (APS) has been introduced — applicants who obtained educational certificates in India must submit an APS certificate at the time of application. Applicants whose first degree was awarded outside the European Union must also submit GMAT or GRE scores (details below). You will also need to provide proof of language skills, any relevant abroad study/work experience, internships or voluntary work, and a strong one-page statement of purpose in German or English that explains why you are applying and how the programme fits your long-term goals.

Graduates are prepared for management and specialist roles in international companies, consulting firms, financial institutions, or innovation-driven organisations. The programme’s combination of functional specialisation (finance, marketing, analytics, operations, entrepreneurship) and intercultural experience supports careers that require cross-border collaboration and strategic decision-making.
The double-degree format and partner-campus internships increase employability in European, Spanish/French and Indian markets, as well as in global corporations and boutique consultancies. Alumni can also pursue further research or specialised postgraduate training where a consecutive MSc is the entry requirement.
