Program overview
This two‑year, full‑time Master’s (120 ECTS) is taught entirely in English in Bavaria and is built for early‑career professionals who want to combine advanced management skills with deep finance expertise. The course brings together a highly international cohort (students from around 80 countries) and focuses on areas such as corporate finance, financial markets, treasury and risk management, and financial accounting, with the stated aim of preparing graduates for senior finance roles up to the CFO level.
Practical learning and career integration are central. The curriculum includes hands‑on projects, company field visits and a 20‑week internship with German employers — many students receive job offers before graduation and around 85% of alumni continue their careers in Germany. Teaching benefits from a small instructor‑to‑student ratio (approximately 1:6), access to a Bloomberg Lab (with Bloomberg Certification), elective modules to tailor career paths, and organised activities such as an orientation week with team‑building, corporate trips and a multi‑day academic excursion to a European financial centre. The programme holds the FIBAA premium seal and is accredited by the German Accreditation Council through 2030. Optional dual‑degree pathways with UniSC (Australia) or MRIIRS (India) are available without extending study time.
Program requirements & facts
This four-semester MBA in Financial Management is organised around five pillars: six base modules in general management, five specialised core modules in financial management, a set of elective modules for deeper specialisation, intensive language training, and application/transfer courses that bridge theory and practice (including a business simulation and an internship placement seminar). Core and base modules carry 5 ECTS each; electives are 3 ECTS. The programme culminates in a four-month Master’s thesis completed in the fourth semester.
The six base modules cover mainstream management topics such as Human Resource Management & Leadership, Accounting, Tax & Legal Systems, Intercultural Management & Ethics, Business Strategy & International Marketing, and Information & Communication Systems. The five core modules concentrate on financial disciplines: International Economics, Corporate Finance, Financial Markets & Institutions, Treasury Management and Risk Management. Electives let you build specialised expertise relevant to career goals; you choose four modules from a broad, practice-oriented list.
Practical learning is emphasised throughout: international students take German Intensive Courses I & II (German nationals may instead study French, Spanish or another language), and in semester three you complete a five-month internship at a publicly listed European/German company (members of Euro Stoxx, DAX30, M-DAX, S-DAX or TecDAX). Application & transfer modules — Management of Projects and Business Simulation, plus Project Placement & Coaching — support the transition from coursework to workplace. After successfully finishing required modules, you research and write a Master’s thesis over four months; many students base their thesis on internship tasks or an innovative topic from a course.

Requirements and structure (concise)
This MBA seeks applicants who already hold a first university degree and have gained professional experience. Candidates should normally have completed a three-year Bachelor's (or equivalent), ideally in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics, with a minimum academic standing equivalent to 2.5 on the German grading scale (or a 2.5 GPA on a four-point scale). Graduates from other fields (e.g., engineering, medicine, natural sciences, humanities) are encouraged to submit GMAT or GRE scores to strengthen their application.
The programme is aimed at professionals with full-time work experience prior to enrolment. A minimum of two years of professional experience is required, and this experience should show development of professional and leadership skills. Applicants holding a non-business degree must ensure that at least one of those two years includes practical experience in a commercial or business-related role.
Apply online by uploading the required documents and sending your application via the specified portals. Documents uploaded to uni-assist.de will be evaluated as part of the first stage. Admissions are processed continuously during the year; applicants are typically informed of the decision within two weeks and have one month to confirm their place if accepted. The selection process includes a short initial interview (about 15 minutes, by phone or Microsoft Teams) to assess motivation and fit, and shortlisted candidates may be invited to a final interview with the programme director. Note that, after arrival in Germany, you must present original certificates and documents (no copies) to complete enrolment.

Graduates are prepared for senior finance roles in corporations, financial institutions and consulting, with the programme explicitly aiming to develop competencies that can lead to CFO-level positions. The long internship and extensive industry contacts often result in offers before graduation, and historically a high share of alumni (around 85%) build their careers in Germany.
Typical career paths include corporate finance, treasury and risk management, investment valuation/FP&A, financial markets roles, and consultancy. The combination of English instruction, German language training and employer networking makes this MBA particularly relevant for international students targeting the German and broader European job market.
