This master's programme is structured in clear stages: an initial phase focuses on preparing you for research activities and strengthening your leadership capabilities, followed by a concentrated phase that tackles the core topics in finance. Throughout the programme you will consolidate new knowledge and develop the analytical and decision-making skills expected of modern finance professionals. The course is delivered in English, with a blend of theory, empirical work and practical projects designed for an international cohort.
The curriculum places strong emphasis on valuation, corporate finance and empirical methods. Core courses cover financial statement analysis, corporate valuation techniques, financial modelling and empirical finance — giving you quantitative tools to assess securities, value companies and test finance theories with real data. Elective options let you tailor your studies toward areas such as alternative investments, risk management, mergers & acquisitions or the economics of financial crises.
Hands-on components cement classroom learning: a field project on active asset allocation, an applied business analytics hackathon and modules linked to corporate finance and investment banking ensure practice-oriented experience. Professional development workshops and targeted training in Python, statistics and econometrics round out the programme, preparing you for roles in asset management, corporate finance, investment banking, risk management or further academic research.

Professional and quantitative skills
This Master’s in Finance is structured to be flexible and practice-oriented. The full programme normally runs over four semesters and culminates in a Master’s thesis, which is frequently completed in collaboration with a company. The final semester is typically reserved for study abroad at one of the programme’s more than 200 partner universities, giving you international exposure and the chance to broaden your academic and cultural experience.
To accommodate different backgrounds and career goals, the programme offers several study tracks. The Semester Abroad Track combines two semesters on campus with one semester at a partner university abroad, finishing with the thesis. The Accelerated Track lets well-prepared candidates shorten their studies to two semesters if they hold a Bachelor’s with 240 ECTS and already have international experience. The Practice Track replaces the third semester with a long, intensive internship before the final thesis, emphasizing hands-on professional training. There is also a Dual Degree option: by extending your stay at a partner institution by one semester you can earn a second degree.
Learning outcomes focus on mastering advanced finance concepts while building applied skills and international competence. Across the tracks you will work through core and elective coursework, engage in practical projects or internships, and produce an independent research thesis — often in collaboration with industry partners — preparing you for analytical, research-driven, and corporate roles in global finance.
Requirements and key points
To apply for this Master’s program you must submit your academic transcripts, proof of English proficiency, and a valid score from one of the accepted admissions tests. Your undergraduate degree may be in any discipline, but it must correspond to at least 180 ECTS or an equivalent, formally recognized qualification. If your degree comes from a country that does not use the ECTS system, include documentation that helps establish equivalence (e.g., diploma supplements or official credit statements).
Accepted standardized tests are GMAT (either the classic or the new Focus edition — reported scores will be interpreted using GMAC’s percentile tables), GRE, Business Admissions Test (BAT), EBSgrad Test, or Common Admissions Test (CAT). For the English-language requirement, consult the program’s admissions page for the list of accepted certificates and the minimum required levels.
If your submitted documents satisfy the formal entry requirements, you will be invited to an individual interview. This interview evaluates your motivation and interpersonal skills; the selection committee places particular weight on your drive to perform and learn, your communication and social profile, your readiness to assume social responsibility, and your initiative. Prepare to discuss your academic and professional background, goals, and reasons for choosing the program.
