This English-taught Master of Science equips students with advanced management and consulting skills designed for careers in international companies. The program focuses on preparing graduates for roles such as SAP consulting, business process consulting, strategic consulting and related fields, combining theory with applied practice to help you transition into professional consulting environments.
You will gain the ability to analyse organisational structures and business processes, design innovative future concepts, choose and implement standard software solutions, and adapt those systems to a redesigned organisational setup. Teaching is hands-on and interactive, using lectures, case studies and project work to mirror real consulting challenges and develop practical problem-solving skills.
Graduates commonly move into roles such as:
The MSc Business Consulting programme combines lectures, seminars, project work and hands‑on lab sessions to develop practical and theoretical consulting skills. The course runs over three consecutive semesters, each worth 30 credits, with the final term dedicated to an independent master’s thesis (total 90 credits). The structure is flexible: modules may be offered in varying sequences and supplemented by elective options.
Core modules cover the full consulting lifecycle — from financial and operational analysis to technology-enabled implementation. Key subjects include Advanced Accounting and Controlling, Advanced Supply Chain Management, Business Process Management, Consulting Methods and Techniques, and Managing Consulting Companies, which together train you to diagnose organisational problems, design interventions, and manage client relationships. On the technology and strategy side, modules such as Business Strategy, Systems Engineering, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, E‑Business Technologies and Process‑Oriented Standard Software (e.g., SAP) equip you to translate strategic goals into IT‑enabled business solutions and to work with enterprise software and analytics platforms.
Graduates will be able to apply consulting methodologies, conduct data-driven analyses, model and optimise business processes, and implement technology-supported solutions in client organisations. Elective modules let you deepen specific areas; consult the programme webpage for the current list of electives and any changes to module offerings.
Program requirements (concise)
This master’s program expects applicants to hold a relevant bachelor’s degree and to arrive with at least one year of professional, full‑time work experience gained after graduation. You should also be able to demonstrate the required level of language proficiency with an official certificate that is valid at the time the programme begins in March — there are no exceptions to this rule.
Degrees in Business Economics, Information Technology, Engineering, Social Sciences or closely related fields are explicitly listed as suitable; other undergraduate qualifications may be considered if they are clearly comparable in content. The professional experience must be relevant to the field and completed after you earned your bachelor’s degree — part‑time roles or internships are generally not counted toward the one‑year minimum unless they meet the full‑time requirement.
Make sure any language test results you submit meet the minimum scores indicated in the programme information (see the score table provided elsewhere) and that the certificate’s validity covers the programme start date in March. Institutions do not grant waivers for expired or missing language proof.
