This English-taught master's programme develops practical, cross-functional management abilities with a clear emphasis on entrepreneurship. The curriculum combines applied management training with entrepreneurial thinking to prepare students for leadership and startup-oriented roles in business environments.
Courses are delivered entirely in English, making the programme accessible to international students and those who prefer instruction in English. The applied focus typical of a University of Applied Sciences means you can expect hands-on learning, case studies and practice-oriented projects that link management theory to real business challenges.
If you want a compact, practice-led master's that builds broad managerial skills while concentrating on entrepreneurial competencies, this programme is designed to give you tools to launch ventures or take on cross-functional management roles in diverse organisations.
This MSc follows a clear, semester-based progression that builds from core foundations to applied research and a final independent thesis. In the first semester you study Organisational Behaviour, Compliance & Ethics, and Research Methods alongside elective courses. These modules establish an understanding of how people and rules shape organisations, and give you the methodological tools to design and evaluate management research.
In the second semester the focus shifts to innovation and strategy with Innovation Management, Strategic Management and Leadership, plus a supervised Research Study in Business Management and further electives. These units emphasise strategic thinking, leading change, and applying research methods to management problems. The programme also offers an optional third semester for hands-on or international exposure — either a practical placement or a semester abroad/an internship — to apply classroom learning in real-world or cross-cultural settings.
The final semester is dedicated to the thesis: you take a Thesis Colloquium to prepare and then complete a Master’s Thesis. This capstone develops advanced skills in independent research, academic writing, critical analysis and the ability to propose evidence-based solutions to managerial challenges.
Admission overview
To be eligible you need an undergraduate degree in business-related studies and satisfactory language skills. The programme accepts a Bachelor's from Germany or abroad in business or logistics with at least 180 ECTS (programmes with exactly 180 ECTS may be subject to special conditions). Applicants should have a minimum German grade of 2.5 (exceptions can be made); this is roughly equivalent to a 3.0 GPA in the U.S. or a 2:1 / high 2:2 in the U.K. You must demonstrate good English ability and be willing to learn basic German during your studies. Applications from candidates with international certificates must include all required documentation.
Recognition and deadlines
If your higher education entrance qualification (school-leaving or university entrance certificate) was obtained abroad, you must obtain a certificate of recognition before applying. International applicants must register with the Center for International Students (Studienkolleg) Konstanz to start the recognition process — this office is the central contact for certificate recognition, advice and German examinations for universities of applied sciences in Baden-Württemberg. Begin the recognition process as early as possible: the recognition certificate must be received by Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences (HHN) by the application deadline, and your application will only be considered if every required document, including the Studienkolleg certification, has arrived by the cut-off date.
