This English-language master’s programme is aimed at graduates from Germany and abroad who have completed a first university degree (typically a Bachelor’s) and want to continue their studies in a multicultural, international cohort. It focuses on developing strategic, cross-functional skills needed to operate in global business environments and prepares students for leadership and advisory roles that span departments and borders.
Graduates are equipped for careers in international companies, consulting firms, and organizations that promote foreign investment. Typical roles include internal and external project management, consulting assignments, participation in strategy and change teams, and assistant positions to executives with global responsibilities. The curriculum emphasizes practical relevance and prepares you to contribute to complex, cross-border business challenges.
Classes are mainly delivered as interactive seminars in English. Seminars are small enough to allow close interaction with faculty and require active student participation, so expect a collaborative, discussion-driven learning experience that builds both analytical and interpersonal skills valuable in international business contexts.
Requirements
The programme is structured in three consecutive semesters that combine coursework, professional development, and independent research. The first two semesters (30 ECTS each) mix foundational modules with specialisation courses: in semester one you broaden core knowledge and begin specialising, while semester two builds on that foundation with further specialised training aimed at preparing you for professional challenges. Both semesters are supported by a personal development module that encourages self-reflection and the development of transferable competencies.
If you do not take an additional internship semester, the third semester is dedicated to completing the Master’s degree. During this period (30 ECTS) you undertake a research methodology seminar to prepare and support your thesis work, submit a Master’s thesis and sit an oral defence. The programme awards 90 ECTS in total upon successful completion. Note: students who already hold 210 credit points typically proceed straight to the thesis semester rather than adding an internship semester.

Programme requirements (concise)
These are the admission requirements for the International Business & Consulting — International Strategic Management M.A. The program expects candidates to have a strong foundation in business studies and specific undergraduate coursework related to strategy, accounting, and operations. International applicants should check how their prior degree and credit system (non‑ECTS) map to the requirements below.
Applicants who hold fewer than the stated ECTS may still be admitted but will need to make up missing credits (for example, via an integrated internship). You will also need to provide documents in English and demonstrate sufficient English ability. Certain credentials—such as relevant work experience or a GMAT score—are considered in specific cases and should be included if they apply to you.

Graduates are prepared for roles requiring strategic and cross-functional competencies in internationally active companies, consulting firms, and international investment promotion bodies. Typical positions include strategy consultant, project manager or team member in strategy and change projects, business development or international market entry roles, and assistant to executives with global responsibilities.
The programme's international focus, English instruction, optional dual-degree pathways and the possibility to complete an integrated internship enhance employability for positions in multinational corporations, consultancies, public-sector trade/promotion agencies, and international organisations. The mix of specialised modules, practical projects and a personal development component supports transition into both advisory and in-house strategic roles.
