Program overview
This fast-track, 15-month MBA is designed to accelerate careers through a strong practical focus: learning is centred on case studies, real-world scenarios and company interactions to prepare graduates for leadership roles in Germany and internationally. The compact format targets early-career professionals who want to move into external or in-house consulting, controlling, or project management across industries. It is one of the few programmes in Germany with a dedicated emphasis on consulting.
Curriculum and teaching
The programme is built around ten core modules covering accounting, finance, marketing, logistics, IT and leadership, with a range of electives — including German language options and courses in strategic and operational consulting — to customise your studies. Teaching blends interactive methods, case work and company visits so students engage directly with current global business challenges. Class sizes are kept deliberately manageable and cohorts are internationally diverse, mirroring the globalised workplace.
Faculty, practical experience and reputation
Teaching staff combine academics and experienced industry practitioners (with experience ranging from several years to multiple decades in multinational organisations), including international professionals and returning alumni. Students may complete an internship while writing their master’s thesis, offering hands-on exposure to German working culture and improved access to the job market. This three-semester MBA is built to equip you for leadership roles in both in-house and external consulting. The program combines intensive taught modules across the first and second semesters with close, individual supervision in small classes and an international cohort. Practical, career-oriented learning is emphasised—many students link their Master’s thesis to an internship, and teaching includes experiential components such as a business simulation and team-building exercises.
The academic year follows the German semester calendar. The winter semester (starts in early October) begins with a two-day campus orientation and an intensive orientation week in Montafon, Austria (mid-October) featuring team-building and a business simulation game. There is a roughly two-week Christmas break, classes resume in the second week of January, and the first exam period takes place in February. The summer semester runs from about mid-March to early July, includes a one-week mid-semester break, and concludes with exams in July.
The final semester is devoted to the Master’s thesis, with the submission deadline at the end of the winter semester. You can complete the thesis in one of three ways: (1) secure a temporary internship and work on a topic proposed by that organisation; (2) take an internship and develop a thesis topic during the internship (in collaboration with the organisation or independently); or (3) pursue an academically proposed or self-initiated topic full-time, independent of an external placement. After assessment, the thesis must be defended. Supervision requires at least one internal faculty member as a supervisor and a second supervisor who may be external; alternatively both supervisors may be internal.

We welcome applicants from all academic backgrounds, with a particular encouragement for those who studied business or engineering. Admission is based on meeting the programme’s entry criteria and completing the two-step application review carried out by the selection committee.
You must apply through the university’s online system (HISinOne). The committee first screens your online application and will inform you within a few days if you are invited to submit a complete set of scanned documents. The final admission decision is made from those scanned documents; after you arrive on campus you will be required to present the original documents in person at the registrar’s office.

Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in external and in-house consulting, as well as positions in controlling and project management across industries. The programme’s consulting focus, practical project work and company contacts are designed to make students job-ready for both the German market and international organisations.
Completing the Master’s thesis as an in-company project and participating in internship and application support (including interview training) helps students gain practical experience and integrate into German working culture, improving chances of securing employment after graduation.
