This Master of Arts programme prepares future managers to respond to the pressures of globalisation and the major digital, environmental and ethical challenges of our time. You will learn to assess global problems with a forward-looking mindset, develop professional and innovative solutions to complex issues, and implement those solutions in ways that are responsible and sustainable. The course emphasises working in multicultural teams and managing groups with mixed languages and cultural backgrounds.
Teaching is practice-oriented and closely connected to business: the programme offers a wide range of specialisation options, and students work on real company projects from the start. Small group teaching, individual mentoring and coaching by professors give you hands-on experience and help develop problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities that go beyond narrow technical knowledge. Practical learning highlights
This full‑time Master’s programme runs over three semesters: two teaching semesters followed by a dedicated semester for your master’s thesis. Each of the two study semesters carries 30 ECTS and involves roughly 24 semester hours per week (Semesterwochenstunden), giving a total of 90 ECTS for the entire degree. The compact design is geared toward focused, intensive study and timely completion.
During each of the two study semesters you will take one compulsory module—either Business Management or International Business—covering central topics in corporate management and the internationalisation of firms. In addition to these core modules, the programme offers nine advanced required‑elective modules from which you select four that match your interests and career goals (the programme encourages taking two electives per study semester). This mix of mandatory and elective courses lets you build a solid foundation while tailoring your profile toward specific areas of international management.
The third semester is reserved for writing the Master’s thesis, which may combine theoretical and practical elements drawn from business administration or economics. As the programme is taught in two languages, the thesis may be submitted in either German or English. Graduates can expect to deepen their knowledge of corporate and international business topics, develop specialised expertise through elective choices, and demonstrate the ability to conduct independent academic or applied research and present findings in a bilingual context.
Key facts and requirements
Applicants must meet academic and language conditions before admission. You need a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent qualification from Germany or another country, with an overall grade of 2.5 or higher. International degrees will be assessed for equivalence to the German qualification requirement based on your submitted transcripts and documents.
In addition to the academic credential, language proof is required: an A2-level German certificate and a B2-level English certificate. Both language certificates must be provided by the end of the application period (i.e., by the application deadline) to complete your application.
For specific details about accepted proof of equivalence, recognized language tests, document formats, or deadline dates, consult the programme’s website or contact the admissions office well before you apply.
