This English-taught Master’s programme is built for graduates who want to take on managerial roles in internationally operating organisations or launch ventures with a global reach. It develops technical, methodological and interpersonal skills needed to tackle economic and sustainable management challenges, with particular attention to the retail and consumer goods sector, production, and the life sciences. The curriculum supports students who want to market ideas internationally, pursue entrepreneurship, or deepen expertise in global business and sustainability.
You can specialise in one of two tracks—Global Supply Chain Management or Social Impact and Sustainability—so you can tailor your studies toward logistics and operations or toward sustainability-driven strategy and social impact. The programme also emphasises cross-cultural management and offers opportunities for advanced research, preparing graduates for leadership positions in multinational teams and for working in competitive global markets.
A distinctive feature is the four-semester structure that gives students flexibility to combine studies with part-time work, internships or other commitments, and to take additional German language courses that strengthen intercultural competence. THI Business School holds AACSB accreditation—being the first business school in Bavaria to achieve this—placing it among roughly six percent of business schools worldwide with this recognition.
Key requirements (summary)
This four-semester Master's program blends rigorous academic study with applied learning to prepare you for international business environments. During the first two semesters you build a core foundation in Global Business and Intercultural Competences, alongside German language courses to support study and professional integration in a German-speaking context. Case studies and practical examples are integrated throughout to connect theory with real-world business challenges.
In the third semester you deepen your knowledge through one of two specializations: Supply Chain Management (SCM) or Social Impact and Sustainability (SUS). The final semester is dedicated to an independent Master’s thesis, which consolidates research and analytical skills and culminates in the award of the Master of Arts degree. Graduates are equipped to pursue roles in multinational companies, entrepreneurship, or further academic research.
Key learning outcomes include a solid understanding of global business strategy, enhanced intercultural communication and teamwork, specialized competencies in either SCM or sustainability and social impact, and the ability to design and complete a substantive research project. Module-level details and course descriptions are provided in the programme’s module handbook (PDF available).
Program requirements and structure (concise)
This master’s programme requires applicants to hold an economics-oriented undergraduate degree and to meet a selection process and language standard. If your degree was completed outside Germany or does not follow the German credit model, the examination committee will assess whether it is equivalent. You must provide documentary proof of your qualification when you apply.
In addition to the academic credential, applicants must successfully pass the programme’s selection procedure (details and format are given in Appendix 2 of the Study and Examination Regulations). You must also demonstrate adequate English ability at the B2 level of the Common European Framework. Please note that the university can only make a legally binding decision about admission after it has reviewed your complete application dossier.
If you want to check in advance whether your certificates meet German admission requirements, uni-assist offers a pre-check tool. Full regulations and the formal Study and Examination Regulations (SPO) are available on the university’s legal department pages. You are encouraged to apply; the admissions office will assess your documents once they are submitted.
