This part-time, five-semester Master of Arts programme prepares graduates from both business and non-business backgrounds for leadership positions that balance economic performance with social and ecological responsibility. Taught in English, the curriculum emphasises sustainable, value-based decision-making across organisations and markets, equipping participants with the knowledge to understand sustainability’s social, economic and environmental dimensions in an international context.
The programme develops leadership skills at multiple levels — from self-leadership to steering teams and organisations — and places strong emphasis on personal growth, resilience, intercultural competence and career development. Students also build social and stakeholder-management abilities for diverse, multicultural settings, and gain practical technical and methodological tools for sustainable business management. Analytical and decision-making skills are strengthened with a focus on transformation strategies and effective communication in English.
Designed with working professionals in mind, the programme combines individual and group coaching, a collaborative “Innovation Lounge” for innovation and change projects, and hands-on elements such as an international study week and a sustainability-focused capstone project. German language courses are included in the tuition, and students can choose double-degree pathways with partner universities in Canada (BCIT) and Thailand (SIIT). Optional job-search and career workshops connect participants with regional companies to support professional transition and networking.
