This recently launched Master of Science programme builds an integrated skill set around three complementary pillars: data analytics, core business knowledge, and leadership. Taught in English, the curriculum is designed to equip students with both the analytical techniques needed to extract insight from data and the managerial foundations to apply those insights in business contexts.
Graduates leave with a mix of broad business acumen and specialised expertise in areas such as business analytics, data science, and digital transformation—skills that are currently in high demand across industries. The programme is particularly suited to students who want to bridge technical analytics work and strategic decision-making, preparing them for roles that require both quantitative fluency and leadership capability.
Key facts (concise)
This Master’s offers two pathways—90 ECTS (17 months) and 120 ECTS (21 months)—both beginning each September. The accelerated 90-credit track includes a one‑week international capstone module and is the standard route; it is available to applicants who have completed at least three months of study or work experience outside Germany. The longer 120-credit option builds in a full semester abroad at one of the programme’s partner universities for a broader international academic experience. The first two semesters for both tracks take place on campus in Vallendar.
Core modules provide the foundational building blocks: essential management theory plus analytical methods and tools needed to work with data in business contexts. Electives and concentrations let you tailor the degree toward specific industry applications and hone the skills of an “analytics translator” — someone who links data science outputs to business decisions and strategy. Available concentrations are Entrepreneurial Analytics, Financial Analytics, Marketing Analytics, and Supply Chain Analytics, although you may also combine different electives to design a personalised study plan.
Practical learning is emphasised: after the first two semesters you undertake a mandatory summer internship to apply classroom knowledge in a real organisational setting. Following the internship you may either spend a semester abroad at one of 200+ partner institutions or return to campus to begin your Master’s thesis. Graduates finish with technical analytical competence, managerial understanding, hands‑on experience, and international exposure geared toward roles that bridge analytics and business decision‑making.
Key details and requirements
Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and demonstrate strong English skills, personal commitment, and enthusiasm for teamwork. The programme expects incoming students to have a solid connection to business and/or quantitative methods—either through their degree, completed coursework, or relevant work experience. Degrees should be recognized in Germany (listed as "H+" in Anabin).
Practical exposure is important: applicants should have completed internships or equivalent practical experience, with a minimum of 12 weeks required and 20 weeks recommended. While international experience is not mandatory, it is recommended. Postgraduate work experience must not exceed four years.
Applications are submitted through the programme’s online application portal on the university website. Shortlisted candidates will first be invited to a video-recorded interview via Kira Talent, and the final stage is a live personal interview conducted online. Proof of English proficiency is required—see the programme webpage for accepted tests and specific score requirements.

Graduates are prepared for roles that bridge data science and business decision-making — commonly as business analysts, analytics consultants, data scientists, product- or growth-analysts, and specialised roles in financial, marketing, or supply chain analytics. The programme's blend of analytical methods, business fundamentals and leadership training targets positions that require both technical proficiency and the ability to translate insights for stakeholders.
The integrated mandatory internship, option for a semester abroad, and concentration choices enhance employability across sectors (consulting, finance, tech, retail, logistics), positioning alumni for both specialist analyst roles and pathway into managerial positions where analytical strategy and leadership are required.
